MBSi announces the appointment of Chris Cox as their Head of Virtual Production and Real Time Solutions.
Based at the MBSE European headquarters in Colnbrook, to the West of London, Chris is responsible for running the company’s recently launched Virtual Production division.
In his new role Chris will be managing projects and providing technical support throughout every stage of the VP installation process, working with production teams from planning, installation and operating, to create and deliver real time, in camera VFX, as well as covering all aspects of LED and projection.
Chris will also preside over the company’s relationships with the industry’s leading software and tech designers, developers and manufacturers, to support the development and delivery of innovation to this highly specialised area.

With over 20 years experience, in the delivery of professional LED, projection and VP support to a broad selection of film and television projects, Chris has been part of the teams behind titles including: Star Wars, Detective Pikachu!, Avenue 5 and Mission Impossible.
Chris, comments “I’ve previously worked alongside the MBSE team on a number of highly successful projects. It’s great to now be joining them as part of this newly created department. Along with providing support for clients both new and existing, we are developing some incredibly exciting products and systems, which we will be introducing very soon”.

Working closely with cinematographers, gaffers, art department and VFX, MBSi VP designs and builds highly effective real time solutions which help realise artistic vision.
The company supports the creation and delivery of real time content, bespoke virtual production environments and immersive location experiences. Using custom created content to faithfully reproduce the natural ambiance of a scene, the on-set realism of the process allows talent and crew to visualise and perform against a dynamic background, rather than a vacant green screen.
Chris will also be supporting studios which offer permanent VP installation as part of their facilities package. Where required, working as VFX Supervisor on specific projects as well as providing training and support to areas of the industry wanting to build a stronger understanding of the process.
